Cat colonies and TNR

Working with community cats is an essential part of what we do. We take part in the responsible care and control of cat colonies through the TNR method: Trap, Neuter, Return.

This system helps control feline populations ethically, reduce unwanted litters and improve the health and welfare of cats living on the street.

How we work

  1. 01

    Identification

We locate the colony, count the cats and assess their condition.

  2. 02

    Controlled trapping

Using safe traps and experienced staff, without causing unnecessary stress.

  3. 03

    Sterilisation

Veterinary surgery and ear-tipping to identify sterilised cats.

  4. 04

    Veterinary care

We treat wounds, parasites and illnesses detected during the process.

  5. 05

    Return

Once recovered, the cat returns to its colony, its familiar territory.

  6. 06

    Feeding and follow-up

Controlled feeding, clean water points and regular monitoring of the colony.

Some cats, especially kittens or sociable individuals, can adapt to living in a home. In these cases we look for responsible adoption instead of returning them to the colony.
